Mom, Show some Authori-Ti!

My son had a little tantrum yesterday. And since I am supposed to be the new authoratative mother. I was ready to handle the situation. Since I wrote the post, we haven't really had any incidents. My son, his name is Savalas, likes to look at these Mario brother videos on the Internet. He wanted to look at them yesterday but I happened to be on the computer so I told him to wait a few minutes until I was done. He starting pouting and continually asking to get on in that whining voice (you all know that voice, totally annoying). I told him firmly that he could get on when I was finished and if he didn't stop whining, he would not get on at all. He had the nerve to say it again He didn't listen and continued and I said that he could not get on at all. He stomps out the room. Then I had to get up and I was trying to read some blogs *lol* I went to his room and told him the usual about no tantrums, etc. Then he put his hands over his ears. Now, he had the funniest look on his face and I wanted to laugh but I am the mother and I couldn't laugh. *lol* I didn't pop him but I turned the TV off and took his toys he was playing with and made him sit there for a while. He eventually came out and said he was sorry. Timeouts have not worked for me so maybe taking his toys, including his Nintendo DS will make him think a little. I think he punked me:)

If only he was always like this...

But he is usually like this.....

Or this. :)

Kids will REALLY try us, won't they?! They're slick about it too. My son is 10 and about 2 years ago, I had to really start watching him! He got sneaky for a minute!!

My daughter is 8 and I think she is going through that sneaky phase but she always gets caught because if she does something her eyes get big and she keeps looking at me. *lol*
